Naya Jeevan
Asher Hasan
Fellowship Awarded 2009

NAYA JEEVAN (which means 'new life' in urdu/hindi) is a multinational, not-for-profit social enterprise that is dedicated to rejuvenating the lives of low-income families throughout the emerging world by providing them with affordable access to quality, catastrophic healthcare. Our initial focus is South Asia with operations ongoing in Pakistan and to commence soon in India.

NAYA JEEVAN's innovative healthcare financing model creates scalable partnerships with corporations, small-medium enterprises, schools and individuals to provide a catastrophic health insurance program to their constituents in a unique, affordable, cost-sharing paradigm.

Dr. Asher Hasan founded NAYA JEEVAN in July 2007 following a successful career in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Asher's medical training and subsequent immersion in global business management and leadership at the New York University Stern School of Business (MBA' 07) provided an ideal soil upon which the seeds of NAYA JEEVAN were sown. These seeds were nourished at an early stage by his colleagues, Irum Musharraf (LUMS, MBA '98) and Saad Tabani (NYU, MBA '09) who have been instrumental in helping him grow the NAYA JEEVAN tree of 'new life' to where it is today.

Please learn more about NAYA JEEVAN's ultimate vision of collective social responsibility and integrated social empowerment by visiting our website at www.njfk.org.
